Subject Matter’s Audience Screening Fund provides microgrants of up to $1,000 to help community members license and host local screenings of our supported films.
Guidelines:
Screening events must be in-person and free to attend.
Screenings must have the intention to gather 20 or more people to view a film.
Hosts must provide accommodations for guests with accessibility needs.
Hosts must follow the rules of the licensing agreement secured for the Subject Matter-supported film that they will be screening.
Hosts must share information with guests about the corresponding nonprofit grantee connected to the film that they are screening. Information will be provided by Subject Matter.
Hosts must complete a post-event survey following the event, including photos from the event and attendance numbers.

How to Apply
Subject Matter encourages a variety of partners to apply to host a screening, including individuals, nonprofit organizations, educators, libraries, community centers, and more. Microgrants are awarded on a rolling basis. Please complete the Screening Host application here.
